"This is probably the most popular haunted house in the United States because of the book and the movies were based on it. In 1975, 13 months after Butch DeFeo killed six members of his family, George and Kathleen Lutz moved into this house with the children. Their experience, whether true or make-believe, became popular culture: green ooze from the walls, hoof marks in the snow, and red-welts forming on the body while the slept.
