"From the outside, Madame Lalaurie was a beautiful and sophisticated woman. Behind closed doors, she was a masochist who tortured her slaves. She was uncovered after a fire brought attention to the house and the torture chamber within. There half-alive slaves with stomachs cut open, lips sewn closed, etc. were discovered.
