Patagonia is the southern region of Argentina and Chile, a place famous for its beauty. It’s not rare to find people from all around the world living in Patagonia, because it’s said that everyone that visits Patagonia falls in love with the place.

Patagonia has some of the most incredible views in the world. If you want to check out some of the coolest hotspots in Patagonia, here is a list.Start with the Argentinean Patagonia. The city of Ushuaia is in the Province of Tierra del Fuego (“land of fire”), the southmost mainland in the world. The city itself is beautiful, and it’s also the starting point for tours to the Tierra del Fuego National Park, and also for the Beagle Channel navigation tours.
Travelling north into the Province of Santa Cruz, you will arrive to El Calafate, where you can start tours to see the beautiful glaciers. The world-famous Perito Moreno glacier and the Upsala, Onelli and Spegazzini glaciers are places that you cannot afford to miss. El Calafate is near Lago Argentino (Argentinean Lake), and the view has been described as “the real magic of eternal ice of Patagonia”.
Moving towards north you will find El Chaltén, a town by the Andes where you can witness the majesty of the mountains. This town is the starting point for tours to Mount Fitz Roy and to Cerro Torres. You can also visit the Viedma and Torre glaciers from here.
Getting northeast, away from the Andes and closer to the Atlantic Ocean, you will find the city of Puerto Madryn, in the Province of Chubut. While surrounded by some of the most beautiful natural views, Puerto Madryn has great hotels and all the facilities you would find in any top city. Visitors of Puerto Madryn can watch the whales while they are in the Peninsula Valdés, and can catch a tour to Punta Tombo to visit the Penguin Colony and get some great pictures.
Up into the Province of Rio Negro it’s the city of Bariloche, a beautiful city with everything from hostels for students to five-star hotels. Placed by the Nahuel Huapi Lake, it’s the start and end of the Seven Lakes route tour. The Nahuel Huapi Lake has an island in its center, called the Isla Victoria, and there are regular boats that take you there. You can cross to Chile from here, to visit Puerto Montt.
The Chilean city of Puerto Montt is the door to the Lakes district, and several tours will take you around the amazing icy waters. Going south, you can find Puerto Natales and Torres del Paine, where you can take a look to the glorious glaciers Balmaceda, Serrano and Gray. In Torres del Paine you will also find trekking tours, ideal for the adventurers.
Finally, going to the south you will get to Punta Arenas, a place that is home of a large penguin colony and that is a top-pick for visitors year after year.
